Pasco County Library director Linda Allen was recently honored by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the New York Times. She is one of 10 national winners of the I Love My Librarian Award.
Allen was selected from more than 3,000 nominees throughout the country. Each of the 10 winners will be honored during a ceremony at The Times Center in New York City.
"Librarians are even more important to their communities in this digital age," said Vartan Gregorian, president of Carnegie Corporation of New York. "They are the people many turn to for help in navigating the complex and information-rich world of the web where the quality of the research and reports is not always clear."
Allen heads up the county's library system, which includes branches in Land O' Lakes and Wesley Chapel.
