Gumdrops, cookies, sprinkles and frosting were flowing freely at Quail Hollow Elementary School Dec. 18 when students and their parents gathered in the cafeteria to create dozens of colorful gingerbread houses.
Madison Hankins, kindergartener, said it was her first time making a gingerbread house, but she is definitely going to do it again next year.
"I liked it because I could be with my friends and my Mom," Hankins said.
Many parents came in to assist the children and some even brought in younger siblings to help out. Courtney Conkel had a little help with her house from both her mother Cindy and her father Frank.
"I love that I get to do this with my Mom and my Dad," Conkel said. "I also liked it because I get to eat candy."
