Several hundred people paid the Namaste Yoga Studio in Lutz a visit to sample the flavors of Yogart. The first-ever event put the spotlight on the arts, yoga and other creative expressions.
Adrienne Reed, the studio's owner, said she is looking forward to having the event again next year.
"I am really happy with the turnout," she said. "We had several hundred people come out that day. We had a nice range of artists."
Yogart included artwork from area photographers and painters as well as craft vendors selling jewelry, soap and even henna tattoos. Festivities also included face painting, free mini-yoga classes, massages and guided sketching classes.
Mandie Soran of Land O' Lakes showed off her chalk pastel artwork at the event.
"I really enjoyed the crowd and all the other artists," Soran said. "It has been a very well organized event. I love it because there are so many different types of artists here today and they are all just here to show off their stuff and share creative energy."
Cheryl Russell of Lutz and her business partner Terri L. Christopher of Tarpon Springs said they enjoyed selling Naturally Perfect, their brand of homemade soaps.
"It has been a great day of meeting people and networking with other local artists," Russell said. "This is such a great area that supports the local art scene."
