It's that time of year again when Girl Scouts head out in force to sell their famous cookies.
Regardless of what the family favorite is, now is the time to pre-order a few or a dozen boxes. Some of the old favorites like Thin Mints, Do-Si-Dos, Somoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Lemon Chalet Cremes and sugar free chocolate chips are available along with a new Latin American inspired cookie, the Dulce de Leche.
Through Jan. 30, the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida will take pre-orders. Girl Scouts will begin delivering cookies from those pre-orders Feb. 22.
Booth sales will begin outside of various businesses and stores Feb. 27 and will end March 22. If interested in finding a booth sale, the local council has launched a search engine for booths by ZIP code at gswcf.org.
For those interested in helping out the Girl Scouts without the guilt of all those calories, there is the Cookies From Home Program. Through the program, a person can donate money to buy cookies which will then be sent directly to military serving in combat zones overseas through a partnership with Support Our Troops. Donations to the program can be made in person, through a Girl Scout or online at gswcf.org through March 22.
For more information, visit gswcf.org or call (800) 881-4475, Ext. 1838.
