On Feb. 26, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed a summary judgment entered in favor of an employer in the case of Latrece Lockett vs. Choice Hotels International. Locket, who worked at the hotel's reservations desk, alleged that her employer violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Florida Civil Rights Act because a male coworker made sexual comments to her when she visited the hotel cafeteria, where he worked. When she complained, the company investigated and the male employee was fired. Lockett was fired because of threats she made toward her male coworker. ...more

The 11- and 12-year-olds of the West Pasco White Sox brought home first-place honors during last weekend's West Pasco Little League District 12 Mid-Season Tournament. The youngsters dominated during their six games, outscoring opponents by a commanding 59-7 margin. Tyler Hawks, Blaize Grabowski and Harrison Keslar led the White Sox at the plate and on the mound, with multiple other key contributors. ...more
